Things to do

Cameronís Cottage is situated midway between the city of Inverness and the smaller village of Fort Augustus and is therefore in an ideal location for day trips to the north, east and west coasts of the beautiful Highlands of Scotland.

There are numerous places to visit all with stunning views. There are many peaceful lochs, gushing waterfalls and mysterious mountains - all just a short drive away and waiting for you to explore. Keep a look out for the wonderful wildlife as you travel and you may see wild deer, various birds of prey and the native red squirrel.

Visit castles steeped in history. Take a trip up the Cairngorm Mountains near Aviemore or go up in a gondola at Aonach Mor, part of the Ben Nevis range. Take a thrilling ride on The Jacobite steam train from Fort William to Mallaig and back. Visit the romantic Isle of Skye, beautiful Glen Affric or take the awe inspiring but dramatic journey to the hamlet of Applecross on the west coast.

Take a tour round one of the many distilleries in the area and sample their whisky. Go dolphin watching at Chanonry Point on the Black Isle or find them at the Cromarty Firth. Visit the Highland Wildlife Park at Kincraig near Aviemore or the smaller Rare Breeds Park in Fort Augustus.

Whether your holiday plans include sightseeing, walking, climbing or just relaxing from the stress and strain of life then this is the perfect location for your holiday.
